Cyprus is an island nation in the eastern Mediterranean Sea. It is the third-largest and third-most inhabited island in the Mediterranean.

Cyprus was severely damaged by a major flood in 2020. Our company decided to help those impacted by the disaster financially by transferring monies to them. My enthusiastic volunteerism was the reason I was given the task. At first, I didn’t think the transactions would be that easy, but I was mistaken. Everything began with an online fundraising campaign, for which I searched for a secure way to send money. Meanwhile, I was exploring and came upon Remit Choice, a safe way to send money.  After the funds arrived where they should have, I received a tonne of heartfelt thank-you notes. The fascinating stories of the families who benefited from the cash were shared by our fundraising company. I decided that I would go to Cyprus. I had the most wonderful welcome there. People learned that I work for the organisation that provided them with the funding. They were really ferocious with me. When I was there, I found that every place had a story to tell.  

 I should also mention that giving money to Cyprus has put me on the path to establishing new friendships abroad. In the end, a tiny cash contribution transformed my life, because kindness can result in unexpected connections.
